Screen Scaling is one of those settings MS have been stuffing around with from one version update to the next, and since 1703 (?) Won't load if I don't enable the Compatibility option > Change High DPI Settings. One thing I forgot about is, while it mostly just makes old games not centre on the screen correctly, I have a game or two that I have had to re-tweak a few games after a couple of the version updates.
